You won't need to be tuned as long as you buy a factory-spec turbo. As for the metal shards they're most likely stuck in the intercooler so I'd remove that and to to blow it out or flush it out with water or something (make sure it's fully dry before installing it back on the car). I'd also make sure to clean the piping from the turbo to the intercooler and check the pipe from the intercooler to the engine and make sure there's no metal debris in there.
