I was rolling around under my Cruze today to change the oil and transmission fluid, when I noticed a few tiny flecks of surface rust starting to form where paint was chipped away on the pinch welds under the rocker panels. I'm not shocked at all, considering the car has seen sustained high-speed operation on salty roads for 2 winters now, and I need to drive down gravel roads quite a bit. I sprayed down the affected areas with Fluid Film, and then popped off the caps under the rocker panel to spray the insides of the rockers. I used 1.5 cans to spray inside the rockers.

This is why I recommend any Canadian and northern US Cruze owner get their car sprayed with oil or lanolin-based rust-proofing every winter. For the headaches it will prevent later, it's well worth the time/money now.

Did you pull your laminar air flow panels and look under them?

Not this time. I have in the past while rustproofing, and there's been nothing but untouched metal underneath.
