I have a 2012 cruze 1.4lt. I live in Ghana in West Africa and the temperature here doesn’t work too well for Chevy cruze. I have had to make the fan direct without going through the thermostat to help with the cooling of the engine and avoid overheating. This is what almost every cruze owner here has to do to save them from overheating. However this also triggers the check engine light and for that reason I can’t use the remote start. Is there a way around this?
Do you know what code is set? If the relays were disconnected from the BCM, the BCM might have noticed the open circuit and set a code. If that's what's happening, a resistor of an appropriate value connected to the BCM would help keep it happy.
