I don’t have any experience with tuning at all but I’ve read your posts regarding the Vermont tune using the handheld tool. I have always been a little cautious on getting a tune since California has gotten more strict on tunes (maybe I’m wrong?) I have a few questions that maybe you can answer.

  • You were able to purchase everything from them and do the tune yourself. ( software & hardware )
  • will the tune pass smog check and CARB compliance
  • is the tune reversible back to factory software and how easy would it be to tune between factory and back to Vermont again if possible.

The tune needs to be CARB certified, the Vermont Tune website does not mention that so you might need to contact them to find out. You will not pass emissions in California if its not certified. You would probably have to flash back to stock for a few days until passing emissions to get around it.

That is my concern. I wouldn’t mind flashing back a few weeks in advance. Getting smogged and then tuning again

Yes, I can flash the tunes myself and data log. Brian emails me the calibrations by email. The tune is reversible. You can load your stock tune back anytime.

As for the emissions question, you'll need to email, Brian. He's the tuner/owner of Vermont Tuning.

DNS error when tried to email him. Possible you spelled Vermont wrong?

Edit: fixed it. Removed the u in Vermont.
