I've been needing to do that on mine for a few years now.
...and that day came today. Just after New Year's, I discovered a coolant leak in the area of the water outlet housing. Since I absolutely hate working on cooling systems, I got the first appointment at the shop that I could, which was the end of the month. Just after that, the engine light came on with a P0171 code. When my appointment came up, I had the coolant leak looked at, the check engine light checked, and had them look at the front crank seal. Got the cooling system flushed and the water outlet housing and hose replaced. Also got the front crank seal replaced along with a new serpentine belt and tensioner. The lean code ended up being the valve cover, which was replaced at no charge under special coverage.

Fixed an earlier error I had made. Back in November I took the factory summer tires off my car. Then I installed my Blizzak winter tires giving them my usual 4 wheel pattern rotation. About a week ago, it dawned on me that the Blizzaks were unidirectional. Sure enough, my back tires were installed rotating backwards. So today, I swapped the back tires to get them rotating the right way again. Unidirectional tires only rotate front and back on the same side.

Drove it to death...

What I suspect is the oil pump seal gave way and oil went everywhere. Ran it dry for about 2km after cooling down but I don't know about this one, oil literally contaminated everything

I drove mine to work and back. Dealing with constant hesitation issues, feeling power cutting in and out. I got a bunch of parts I’m going to replace including the turbo, spark plugs, valve cover, pcv line, and coil pack. I’m hoping this fixes my issue. 111k mikes, 2011 Eco 6 speed manual.

Polished the portion of crank that the front main rides on, buffing compound and a microfiber cloth got it feeling smooth again.

Since the old one had a broken snap leg, and I just got a new valve cover, I decided it was time for a new coil pack cover.

Jumped it.

Had no key just a fob, so jacked the car up high enough I could crawl under and hook booster leads directly to the alternator. Worked like a charm.

Huh? Why would you want to do that? You realize that the alternator / starter and battery are all directly connected to each other? Jump at the battery terminals is best.
Did you break the blade off the fob? If so, after you jumped the vehicle, how did you turn the ignition switch?

Should relitrate I only had the back up fob since my car's at the garage. Battery went dead, so needed power to unlock it via the fob.

I got a Amazon replacement just hadn't got it cut yet

Finally fixed the leaking coolant overflow tank. Now the water outlet has sprung a small leak so that's next on the agenda.

Hhmm, I'm still confused. The key will still open the door without power. Do you have keyless ignition?
