Hello everyone.
I just found this at the bottom of my engine on my 2011 cruze 1.4 turbo. It has a groove on inside and raised up on outer part like an upside down V. I was at a stop light when the car began rough idle, smoking from engine bay on the side of serpentine belt. My belt is shredded and it's only about 3 months old. New belt and tensioner. All of the pulleys seem to be free moving except the bottom one which I believe should not turn freely??? Anyways, I thought this was part of serpentine belt but upon further review.....?? It's very odd I know. It wasn't there right before this incident so I'm not sure what in the heck is going on??

It could be a VVT solenoid gasket, maybe.

I think that is a VVT solinoid gasket. It looks flat on the inside. The oil filter o-rings are round.

Ok. I should have mentioned this from beginning. This seal or gasket is 4 and 3/4" inner diameter or 5" from outside diameter. It's a big sucka. It reminds me of same size as the larger pulleys but I'm just guessing. In my mind it has to be one of the pulleys messing up because of the belt shredding. I how that helps a little. Thank you again

So that turned out to be a gasket from the harmonic balancer pulley. Not the seal but the gasket inside of pulley! Go figure
