Just a weird thought. In Australia we have e-tag devices for travellling on toll roads. Supposed to be fixed to the windscreen but at work we often sit them on the dash or even down near the radio and they work fine.

Just got our new Cruze and trying to work out if i need to get a new e-tag mounting (that was left in the old Jazz) and i thought that for the time being we are sitting it inside the dash box. Wondering if anone just leaves it in there.

The lid seems very thick but I dont think there would be metal in there that could shield it. Yes i could try it but may be some time b4 we go on to the toll road.

Any ideas?

I have been wondering the same thing and I have not used a toll road in the 15 months since I bought the Cruze. I will start leaving it there just in case. I have the same plates I had on all my cars since 1971. (Personalised).

Great replies thanks. Got some stick on velcro dots to add to it and so can fix the e-tag into place... to stop the sliddddddddde around.
Problem with a car that likes to corner well on the firm sports suspension.

Everything must be battoned down before wheels start turning. :) its fun but.

I put my EZ Pass in that top box on my dashboard and the toll reader would not read it. How disappointed was I?

Interesting. Maybe if you flip it over?

Funny story, back when I had two cars and was regularly driving both on the turnpike, I was going to work in the Cruze and thought that I forgot my EZ pass in my other car. No problem, just get a ticket and pay cash. Well I get up to the toll booth, the gate is up and the machine is not giving me a ticket. I'm confused as all ****, so I hit the button for help. Cars are starting to back up behind me at this point. The lady comes out and says "do you have an EZ Pass?" I said "yes, I do but it's in my other car." She said that it was somewhere inside my current car because it was registering and to go through and continue on my way.

I was dumbfounded until I started looking in all of the compartments. It was right where I left it (and forgot about it), in the center counsel compartment.
