Just a quick dumb questions. I have a 2015 1.4L Turbo .... The dipstick has i think 4 sections with markings on them, with raised nubs in between. My oil level is at the 3rd nub (just below the 4th section). I hope i'm remembering these numbers correctly. So is that low? If so, by how much? I dont know how much oil in the engine each section means (or how low). Thank you in advance for you help.

Lately, I've been doing my oil changes and intentionally setting my oil level to be 50% in the crosshatch/nub area on the dipstick. That way I know for certain whether my vehicle is burning or making oil.

According to the owners manual, anywhere within that region is considered full. But if it's too low or too high you can't easily track oil level changes, which is as important as oil level.

Just make sure when you sell the car, add 1/2 a quart to put it on "full" so the new buyer doesn't think it's low. I think most non-mechanically inclined buyers would think you're wrong/crazy for doing your oil this way but if you are the only one looking at it, it's perfectly reasonable.
