I bought my 2014 Cruze LT 1.4 with 85k and quickly found out it had quite the list of repair needs.
Most pressing is the rather large oil leak that continues to grow and cause more damage. It seems to be coming from whatever is above the alternator and next to the serpentine belt.. There is globs of oil on the motor mount covering the belt and the surrounding area. Its all over the alternator and hoses and bottom of the car. Recently it started burning that oil and smoking and there is globs splattered in bigger area than before. For the past two days my Battery Saver Activated DIC lights been coming on. I have a fear it's the oil soaker alternator.
On the list of repair needs was the oil pan gasket.. wouldn't the oil be leaking from underneath? Any idea where it could be coming from? What more info do you need?

I would look at the crank seal.. Spray off the oily face of the motor with brake clean.. then run the car for a couple minutes and see if you can tell where its coming from for certain.

Welcome Aboard!(y)

After cleaning off the engine as Mr_Pat suggests, Read the following and inspect for the orange nipple. Multiple oil leaks can be caused by an over pressurized engine.

Don't forget to introduce yourself and your Cruze here.

Hey, could you possible tell me what it is I’m experiencing this same exact problem it’s been months I still haven’t found out where the oil is leaking from its burning oil so when the ac is on it smokes and I have bought 2/3 serpentine belts so far please help.

Hi ! I just had my 1.4 done with the whole timing chain cover and oil pan re-done + recall of intake and cover valve

. And 4 weeks ago, had the same problem as yours and I took about 10 minutes to fix this one, it's the 2 seals for the camshaft actuators that were leaking so bad!!! I bought the original GM and my friend mechanic over there told me to put a little sealant ( grey-stuff) ont top of that and I can confirm to you that it's no leaking anymore and all is dry now. It took me a week to pinpoint from were it was leaking, I was cleaning it for about a week and finally found that it was from the too, it was splashing everywhere ( alternator and engine support because it's dripping on the belt while it spreading it everywhere)...

If it can help you !👍 and its not expensive!

Hi again, and it's on 4 bolts to undo, if you're solenoids come off to much easily, your seals are finished, they have to be somewhat a little stiff to pull of...
