I bought a engine camshaft locking tool set from OMT (Orion Motor Tech ) . Pictures in the instructions are not very good for where and why to put them . I realize the 2 gear pieces fit between the cam gears , but the other pieces in the kit are pictured vaguely. Are there any how to an whys that a member has done on a 2012 chevy cruze with a kit. And also the instruction had a J 28647-B tool listed as an Engine Support Bracket . This item wasn't in the kit. Any articles on this subject or replacing the timing belt would be helpful . Thanks
tools need better explanation for how they fit and why.

your post is a 1.4 engine out of the car . mine is a 1.8 in the car. Although some of the tooling is similar the kit is different. 6628A &6340 probably the same tools . The crank shaft locking tool 6625 ??? also have 2 other tools with kit no identity on either or info on them in the instrctions.

Well you did not specify 1.8 or 1.4 so I took a guess. There are plenty of videos you can look at on YouTube that are aimed at the 1.8 platform. In car or out of car really should not matter. Apologies for guessing the wrong engine.

My problem doing this job is looking at a picture of putting in a tool 6625, that came with the kit to lock out the flywheel . I know you said it was a waste of money to buy a kit, but when I try to do with what instructions I had , I can only try. I'm not a good mechanic, just like to fix what I can with the skills I have. Although I have only done a timing chain on a gen 2 mini Cooper these motors look almost identical .. do your research and make sure that locking pin is in correctly .. just a note .. on the mini the cams had a rounded edge and three straight sides .. rounded edge went down!! . There really were several tricks to actually getting the timing right .. just make sure you know them all.
