This thread will contain Wiring Schematics (and occasionally Wiring Diagrams) for the first Generation Cruze. Most of them will probably be from US spec 2011-2016.5 Cruzes, but if they are brought to our attention, we will include wiring schematics from 2008-2016.5.
What is the difference between Wiring Schematics and Wiring Diagrams? Well, to start they are generally made for two different audiences, but in our case both are useful. A Wiring Schematic (from now on, just schematic) is geared to a professional user. It shows what components, usually as symbols, are used and the connections are shown in an efficient manner. Most of what is produced by repair manual companies are of this type as it takes up much less space and most professionals can easily read what they need.
There are two basic types, a complete schematic and what is sometimes referred to as piecemeal schematics. Most of what is seen on CruzeTalk is of the piecemeal type. It may show the immediate circuit for a sensor or control with notations as to where else it connects into the entire system.
A Wiring Diagram (now referred to as diagram) is designed for a beginner. a diagram shows the relative layout of the components and the wire connections between them. It will help locate the part in question whereas the schematic just shows that that part exists.
While we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these as they are all member submitted, they are generally reliable. Also not all, but many systems are the same or very similar across the Gen I years.
