I have a 2014 Cruz that is doing weird rattling noise.
When the car is on park its very quite but when I shift to R or D (not moving yet) it start rattling and especially if I turn on the AC it will get worse. And same while driving.
I did get a new spark plugs and two boots they were bad, I also replaced the Vapor canoster purge valve, I did check the PCV valve closed from turbo side and opened from the other side like it should be.
I did notice the belt tensioner moves alot is that normal?
engine mounts looks fine. I bought the passenger side but didn’t replace it yet.
Any ideas? Thoughts?
Here is a video of the noise

I can't tell if that's the water pump or timing chain area making that noise from the video, but you probably can.

Rest your hand on the cover just above the chain and see if you feel it slapping the bottom of the cover. If so, remove the cam cover and tighten the two bolts on the guide up top.

If it's the water pump, get a new one in there ASAP.
