So the way these head units are can be kind of funky. I'm not an expert but know a good amount. Things to look for when buying one are to get:

At least 4 or 6 GB of RAM paired with 128gb storage or higher. The reason being is that this combo requires that the chipset not be one of the cheaper ones. like a Rockchip px3 or a**42 or whatever. Read more

Find one that specifically is an FYT head unit or more specifically look for a UIS7862 Spreadtrum(sp?) Or a mediatek chipset (usually the names appear in the same description with 8 cores, 6+2, cpu and you respectively).

Those always come with a hardware DSP.

If you follow those guidelines a and look at the $300 and up range, you will find very very useable head units, Tesla or regular for any make/model that are fast and useable and have a good amount of aftermarket support like custom firmware and kernels and stuff (check xda and 4pda for that atuff)
