Thanks for all the feedback. I replaced the negative battery cable and that did not work. The readings for the battery and alternator were taken at the battery with the headlights on. I brought the car to the dealership and the technician said the problem is the aftermarket alternator that i installed is not functioning/charging. I bought a genuine gm alternator and hope to install it this week. Go from there.
That is the dealership party line. Aftermarket sucks. Buy only overpriced factory AC Delco.

Dealership mechanics will always say that the non factory part is crap. Used to have an Audi A7 so I was active on the Audi forums and on one of the message boards a guy was having problems with his brakes after installing new rotors and Powerstop pads. Factory OEM rotors are made by Zimmerman on that platform. He purchased and installed Zimmerman rotors (not through a dealer) and the dealer tech said they were low quality even though they are the same thing sold from their parts department.

My experience is quality aftermarket will equal or exceed factory parts . . . Except the damned cat converter on the Chevy Cruze.

In my mind you have not ruled out wire harness yet. You replaced the neg cable which is good. I would suggest you take apart connections and thoroughly clean them with a wire brush. Clean the battery connections and clean the alternator connections. I would even go so far as to try a jumper from the battery to the alternator. The replaced alternator can be bench tested as well to determine if its good or not.
