2014 2.0 diesel at 140k. Noticed a whining noise a few weeks ago, like a distant siren. Took it into a mechanic thinking it was the turbo, mechanic says the turbo seems fine. He got codes for the DPF, an oil pressure sensor, and thermostat. Says he saw two hoses from the turbo that were cracked and needed replaced, but he’s having trouble finding them to order. The whining is present at idle, gets louder with rpm’s. The sound seems to change in pitch and volume with the shifting of the transmission while driving. Also experiencing some stuttering, as if it’s running out of fuel or not getting air, at random speeds. I really don’t know what to make of it or where to go from here. There is a lack of mechanics in my area who are willing to even look at a diesel, much less work on one, and the dealership is a joke at service. Does anyone have any advice as to the direction I need to go from here? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!
