Hi Guys ...be nice this is my first post ;-)
I just changed out an engine with a cracked head for a new one.
I had a hard time fitting the new engine into place by myself, (getting the hole in the flywheel to align with the center rod of the torque converter was a beast) but I finally succeeded.
After I got the bolt holes lined up it still wouldn't go together easily, but i just slowly used the bolts to bring them together.
Finally i heard a little clank which I thought that was just the sound of it sliding into place.
I tightened up bolts and tried to turn it to line up the flywheel with the the bolt holes of the torque converter, but it was too tight to turn, so I loosened everything off and it was able to turn easily and I got the 3 bolts in.
I didn't think to try the crank again right after tightening all the engine/tranny bolts, but now that I have everything connected and wired up, I can't get the crank to turn. sigh!
A mechanic friend of mine said to look for a bolt too long or something, but I wonder if there is something else in the interface between the flywheel and the transmission that I need to look at.
Any Ideas?
