Daughter brought her 2014 Cruze over, (79k miles) complaint of no AC.
I put the gauges on it, no refrigerant in the system.
Charged it up, compressor clutch pulled in nicely, cooling was OK.
Shut down, heard hissing and gurgling noise coming from the dash board vents.
Evaporator had a big leak.
Checked how to replace evaporator, WOW, entire dashboard and everything on the interior firewall must be removed,
way more work than this 70 year old dad is up for, especially in 93 degree heat here.
Chevy dealer did the work, $1800! Most of the $$$ was all the labor involved.
In 2017, dealer had to replace the compressor and some sensor, $800.
The AC is the only major expense we have had so far, except for a new battery this year.
Sometimes wish we lived in a place where the AC is not required to be on full-blast 10 months of the year, just wears it out!
