Hey guys,
Where do you find your drawings and diagrams at? I'm trying to locate the turbo boost position sensor for cleaning or replacement if necessary. It looks like on the gen 1 it's right on top behind/beside the engine. For the gen 2, I haven't been able to locate it. Any help would be appreciated!

Per the parts diagram on the page you linked, those two are in the charge air cooler (one before and one after).

The MAP sensor that I removed and cleaned is plugged right into the intake manifold on the top/back of the engine. A screwdriver with a star or hex or whatever bit can remove that one.

When I get to the shop on Monday I'll research this code. I don't know if it necessarily pertains to the MAP.

P2598 Code - Turbocharger Boost Control Position Performance Low Position

Possible Causes:
Faulty Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve
Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve harness is open or shorted
Turbocharger Control Solenoid Valve circuit poor electrical connection
Faulty Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor

Just looked up the code.

It involves verifying a good vacuum supply to the vane pos. Solenoid valve and using a scanner to control the solenoid while checking against the turbo pos. Sensor input.

If you do not have a good scanner or test equipment I would bring this to a reputable diesel shop.

Thank you, that's helpful! I have $200ish scan tool, not sure if it has that functionality.

So is there a separate turbo vane position sensor or is the CPU figuring the vane position using feedback from the solenoid actuator? I'm just trying to wrap my head around the whole system and figure which components can be replaced.

Alright so the car has been parked all week waiting for a CV axle. Got the axle replaced yesterday and got the cruze back on the road. No issues going to work but while I was on the way home I got the CEL twice with P2598 about 45 minutes apart.

After a little more research this evening I did find a few posts with the same code (P2598) stating that cleaning the map sensor fixed it. I figured I would start there as it's simple, right on top of the motor, and my Cruze is at 110k miles and I've never cleaned it.

The map sensor was nearly a solid block of carbon. A little electronics cleaner got it polished back up. I replaced the upstream NOx sensor back in December but after 20k miles, it was due for cleaning too. I buttoned everything up and took it for a test drive. The cleaning definitely seems to have brought a little pep back. It's more responsive and even sounds better. So far no more trouble codes. I will update this post with any changes
