I finally got my intake manifold off and it was as bad as I thought. The opening that connects to the throttle body was completely obstructed; the swirl flaps were full of carbon and couldn’t move; I have
rather crappy photos of the nastiness which doesn’t do it justice in the least. My question is, how do I best clean this thing? Specifically the area behind the closed flaps. I thought it looked pretty good til I stuck a camera down one of the runners…..the runners with the closed flaps (every other opening) are clogged up behind them, and you can see it from the main opening. Oh and I have a 2014 Cruze 2.0 with 63,005 miles.
