All we need is someone to make a turbo manifold that will accept an external turbo! There are already many options then and custom downpipe!

But then you would need intercooler upgrade fuel upgrades, and tuning at the very least.
All this is very feasible actually. Intercooler should be soon from ZZP. Fuel upgrades would be tricky. Would have to use a fuel pump from another car that is compatible...something like a Walboro would be a easy splice in. Injectors would have to be made or sent to someone like RC so they can raise pressure and flow bench. Tuning I'm sure could be handled by Vince. As long as you go with a small enough turbo it shouldn't be too difficult to dial in with some data logs. I think our block should be capable with running a max of 300 hp without needing a rebuild. I've already thought this thru lol. Now...whos gonna be the first?

Hmmm, do we have any turbo manifold fabricators here? A nice T28 or simple T3/04 hybrid would provide all the power we could handle while still maintaining our low end torque.
That's what im thinking.something like a gt2871. Forced air technologies and full race are pretty close to me. Im thinking bout seeing how much they would do it for

True.thing is FAT plays with sti's and Gtrs. FR is hondas and evos. Gonna be hard to convince em to do a cruze lol

Maybe the Diesel trans will (assuming they are smart enough to upgrade it), there is little hope for the stocker at those power levels. Halfshafts will probably go before that. I don't think this car was designed with high HP levels in mind. Beefy parts add weight, weight takes away fuel mileage. I think bolt on/tuned engines are pushing the limits of the drivetrain already.

BTW if anyone is in my area I have a fabricator that wants to build a header for the Cruze, I just don't want it on mine.
Might be some truth if it wasn't for the fact gmpowertrain lists they can handle 235 lb/tq. Gm has always under rated their cars. I agree half shafts would be first to go but if you drive the car normally and spirit drive occasionally I think the drivetrain could handle it

Recently though they've torque matched their engines and trannies. My G6 in stock form is already around 90% of its peak torque capacity. It's gonna take people pushing it to find out though.

That's what im thinking..just not sure if I wanna be the first.

keep in mind that is 235 at the flywheel, not the driving wheels. that is roughly 200 at the wheels, which a tuned car is getting pretty close to
Ya I realized that after I reread the specs. I guess we will see at some point how far it can be pushed.

I think we're all just waiting on ZZP to get their intercooler kit out to the public.... Although, a new wheel would be cool. I just want to max this turbo first before considering stuff like that.
being tuned we are getting **** near close to maxing out our turbo. porting and polishing will only go so far. with the money spent on that..you could just upgrade and not have a maxed out turbo.

i agree with maxing out the turbo as i stated earlier. but its gonna take someone like zzp to make a upgrade kit. a shop that has a cruze and is able to have the resources to try different turbos and make the dyno runs multiple times. i think most ppls Cruzes are their dd's and handing it over to a shop for atleast 2-3 weeks wont work.
