Replacing crankshaft seal on a 1.4L Turbo engine

I have taken the motor mount apart and removed several times with 2 different Cruzes now an NOT replaced the bolts for the engine mount. Nothing ever broke or failed on either car.

The factory service manual is written for the dealer techs and just happens to be available to the public as well. Those "replace me bolt" comments are aimed at the dealer tech and a warranty on repairs. Joe wrencher at home can chose NOT to replace them if they feel like rolling the dice on the repair. For the crank bolt in question 110 FT-LBS is pretty damned tight to begin with and will likley go nowhere if NOT given the extra 60* of UGGAH. If you feel the need to give some extra UGGAH then just turn int 30*.

Now if you feel the need to replace every single bolt with those comments then go for it. Me I will save that money and spend it on ammo and bourbon. Sometimes I will replace, sometimes I will not, depends on the application and my thoughts on the likelihood of failure if I don't change it. My old Audi A7 the axle bolt was 148 FT-LBS plus an extra 180* turn. The bolt was less than $10 and I wanted it **** tight so I replaced the bolt and added the 180* of UGGAH. That was well beyond 250 FT-LBS. 18" breaker bar and a 3 foot cheater pipe was needed. Bearing bolts. I pulled them down to the torque which was pretty tight but I did not add the extra UGGAH, same with shock absorber bolts.

Am I wrong? Not really. Am I right? Not really. Its my car, my choice.
