Didn't mean everything, just the intake with that little swirling dam and the exhaust manifold, maybe the turbo and throttle body... That with the zzp parts and a flowmaster in the rear should help the efficiency out a lot.

Has anyone looked into the possibility of some of the Vauxhaul parts off their cars working on the 1.4? I know I seen a stock looking compressor housing stuffed with a new wheel, tubular exhaust manifolds, hard intercooler pipes etc on one of the off shore sites.

I think we're all just waiting on ZZP to get their intercooler kit out to the public.... Although, a new wheel would be cool. I just want to max this turbo first before considering stuff like that.

being tuned we are getting **** near close to maxing out our turbo. porting and polishing will only go so far. with the money spent on that..you could just upgrade and not have a maxed out turbo.

But in theory increasing the efficiency of air flow ( intake, turbo back exhaust even port matching the intake&turbo manifolds) should reduce the boost pressure yet increase power leaving room to increase the boot again making maximum power without ever touching the factory unit... Although by maxing out that stock unit it will more than like crap out A LOT sooner than an upgraded unit running at 80% of it max efficiency.

I don't understand the theory behind "maxing out" this turbo. If we have the ability to do a turbo upgrade, let's get it to the guys that want it. No sense in going from A to B when you can just jump to C or D and not have wasted your money on B (provided your end plan was having a car capable of C or D. If 200hp is all you're looking for, I don't blame wanting to stick with the stock turbo. What about the guys that are looking for more though? It's pretty obvious that this turbo isn't going to support 280+, so lets look for an alternative. I'm reminded of the 03 Cobra guys wanting to get into the 9s on a stock Eaton. Only thing that came to mind was "Wow, why?" For the money they have into every other mod to make that happen with maxing out that blower, they could have spent half the money and had a faster car. Makes no sense.

Tial V band turbine housing and ext wastegate...Mmmmmmm

That's just a couple of things I've seen. Most are on the 1.6l though. I'm curious on if there's a difference All tuning, tranny strenght, axel breakage, issues aside this is what I'd like to see. Hopefully somebody that doesn't care about their warranty will team up with a manufacturer and get deep into some R&D. Seems like they've got a good start on it overseas.

i agree with maxing out the turbo as i stated earlier. but its gonna take someone like zzp to make a upgrade kit. a shop that has a cruze and is able to have the resources to try different turbos and make the dyno runs multiple times. i think most ppls Cruzes are their dd's and handing it over to a shop for atleast 2-3 weeks wont work.

Sign me up. I don't have a warranty, and I could use all the power the 1.4 will put out.

I did a little bit of digging about the Astra 1.6 Turbo. It does appear to be of the same family as the Cruze 1.4 T. Any one have any further information on that?
