Guess I'll just kick this off, lol.

First thing I did after I jacked up all four corners was pop the hood and remove the heat shield. There are three bolts with some crazy @$$ heads on them, but they're not tight and can be removed easily with pliers if you don't have the right fitting tool.

Now it looks like this:

Then I went underneath and removed the underbody paneling. (I have an ECO) There are 8 bolts and a bunch of plastic pop fasteners (2 in each wheel well and one forward of each wheel well.):

This is the stock O2 Housing:

This is the stock midpipe:

Then I pulled the O2 sensor from the stock housing and opened up the V band clamp.

I didn't get a picture, but I removed the two bolts from the midpipe/resonator joint next.

Then, there are two brackets that the stock O2 Housing attaches to here:

It was hard to get to the aft O2 sensor, so instead of unscrewing it, I just unplugged it from the harness just above it. It was pretty tight with no lift, so I couldn't get a pic there either.

Stock compared to ZZP parts.

After that, follow the exact opposite procedure to put in your ZZP pieces.

Good to know- I left my heat shield off after installation... Not sure if I'll put it back on or not...

Thanks for the writeup!

How much of the noise was the intake, and how much was the down/midpipes?

The down and mid only increased the noise you hear from the turbo's wheel, not the BPV. Before, I could only hear pressure building from my intake, now you can actually hear when the wheel itself spools up. (that's that high pitched whistle)

Thanks for the parts, Steve! Hopefully you'll be carrying the ZZP catback when they release it and I can come back to you for that! lol (I really need to find a diffuser I like first...)

How has the down and midpipe improved the performance? Just curious.

Definitely feel the torque increase and it breathes so much easier, even with the stock catback. It will chirp into second and third every time I get on it in trifecta sport mode.

I think the biggest restriction is the first cat right after the turbo. Having a backpressure machine immediately post turbine is a definate no-no for efficiency at higher flow rates. As for sound, the biggest difference would likely be noticed on a stock intake with Trifecta power mode. With an otherwise stock car, you can hear the wastegate begging for backpressure mercy at about 20psi in power mode.

Power wise, this should let it run more timing at WOT. The 4-7 degrees of advance seen in stock power mode is rather sad. I am looking into 1 heat range colder plugs before summer hits in the swampy south.

Boats, let us know if you get a CEL for that second O2 sensor. It is expecting a cat before it.
