Hi all, i've got the Cruze LT 2019 And I have issues with Apple CarPlay using my iPhone 13 and get pixelization on Google maps and Apple Maps along with audio cut outs anywhere from five minutes once it's plugged into 20 minutes later and I have to unplug it or hit home to fix it temporary and then it happens again pretty quickly.
I tried connecting my infotainment system to my home Wi-Fi which most the time doesn't work but very seldomly it does and it says there's no updates available, I tried phoning OnStar to get a one month Wi-Fi package to see if the update will push through that and they said it doesn't work that way . I tried connecting it to my phones hotspot and it says there's no updates.
I've tried phoning Apple Support and doing diagnostics with them but they say they can't pinpoint the problem.

I phoned and emailed Chevrolet Support, they said take it into the dealership, but in Ontario Canada they have to go through a third-party which I have to pay out-of-pocket to have them diagnose it and maybe if it's the entire radio system they diagnose as an issue then they replace it under my warranty but if they see it only has a software issue then they won't fix it.

Is there any update Download I can put on a USB then connected to my car and update it that way?

Any suggestions would be grateful.

Thanks

It could be a number of things.

GM's TSB on this issue (Carplay connectivity) says to replace the charging cord with a genuine Apple cord (MiFi certified). I agree with them on this, always use genuine or certified cables.

Whether or not there is a calibration/software update for the vehicle, the dealer can determine that but there is nothing you can update yourself. GM is not like Tesla, they don't really provide free software updates/fixes for their vehicles.

You can also try to remove the vehicle from your Apple Car Play list on your phone and re-add it. Speaking of phone, did you try a different iPhone to try and narrow it down if it's an issue with the car or with the phone?

I have also found that restarting your phone before connecting it to Car Play helps it connect more reliably.

Wish I could shed some light, but I am having the same issue with pixellation on google play maps....same iphone 13. I also have an add on sirius tuner that plugs in via USB. the music will drop, but the display will stay, and even change to the next song. have to unplug the usb cable and essentially reboot the device. The audio will also get garbled and chopped when it switches back to the sat tuner from bluetooth phone call. switching stations fixes that. Just more to the mystery, but it does seem to point to a USB/head issue
