Hey everyone my parents car just started mixing oil into the coolant reservoir and it has also developed a slight oil leak on the passenger side of the engine, the oil cooler is dry and I’ve read that that could be the problem but I’m not sure. The pcv hose also has a lot of oil in it does anyone have an idea what might be going on? The car has 130000 miles on it and it is a NA LT 2011. It also has some sort of knock that goes away after a while when cold starting which I suspect to be because the cam shafts don’t get oil when the car hasn’t been started. This is my parents car and I use it for commuting to school, thank you!

Can oil somehow leak into the coolant without coolant in the oil? I'm losing about 16 oz of coolant a week and there is a dark residue in the coolant reservoir. I have not seen coolant in the oil (I've seen that years before in a Ford Courier, bad head gasket).

My oil cooling stuff is just starting to leak slightly and and keeping an eye on the oil until I can get in to my mechanic next month. Or sooner if catastrophe strikes.

Been through all the standard coolant leaks over the last year, reservoir, radiator hoses, etc. Can't seem to figure this out.

Low oil is bad hopefully you havent scored any of the bearings. I woud spray the side of the motor where you see oil and try to pinpoint that leak as well.. blown head gasket can have a similair issue with oil in coolant and coming from between block and head on engines..

My bet is the oil cooler as far as the coolant in the oil.. The PCV issue I take back as I missed this was a NA car.. I thought the 1.8 didnt have the PCV issue. I cant view your vid but at the sae time im not one to guess car problems by video..

Is there coolant in the oil ??? when you pull the dipstick whats your oil level ?? The oil cooler is one possible culprit.. An o ring may have given out allowing oil and coolant to mix. does the exhaust blow a lot of white smoke ? If so you may be looking at a head gasket. By the comment about the PCV tube I'd say the PCV is shot in the intake. you can replace the intake or use a Fix kit found at Cruzekits.com or davescustomparts.com/cruze-parts. As far as the knock id have to be at the car to give my opinion.
