The dashboard indicator light is illuminated on my vehicle. Despite running an OBD scan which yielded no error codes, the light intermittently appears and disappears. What steps can be taken to diagnose the underlying issue and resolve the warning?

Don't forget to introduce yourself and your Cruze here.
It may be that your scanner is not able to read all codes. An intermittent light could be something as simple as a bad lamp/ground (probably not though), a pending code or even a gas tank door being left open or at least not fully closed. I would start by finding someone with a better reader.
