Operational hood scoops? I hope you understand this is MUCH easier said than done. Not only do you have to worry about water drainage and preventing water from being sucked in, but you also have to find a way to actually pull cold air only from the outside, which means sealing the filter away from the engine bay and to the hood when it's closed. Good luck.

Thanks Mick, The dash just looked boring to me. Wanted something to match the covers. I have the front end completed. I'll gets pics up as soon as com_ast gets my internet back up. I also mounted the hood. That has a lot of work to get it properly in place. I had to sand and file a lot more that I anticipated to get the rubber and wiper sprayers move over.

Xtreme - I've thought about all of that. The hood is made to set on top of the oem air filter housing when closed. Air still comes through from the original setup. But this is for the 1.8. I have the guys in the shop cutting stainless inserts I can place over the scoops if it starts raining too hard. The off-road community also has a neoprene boot that can be put over the filter for the mud boggers. Not sure how it's going to be permanently. But you guys will be the first to know.
Here, let me throw a few ideas at you. These might help some.

The Lumina Z34 guys have a very nice hood vent that integrates a drip tray. This is mostly for reducing under-hood temperatures, but the idea might be of some use to you.

The vents look like this. The vent attaches to the hood and the drip tray attaches to the bottom of it:

These have been successfully installed by the Impala SS community on a number of occasions, and they definitely look good.

If you can achieve something similar with the drip tray, you might be able to get what you're looking for. Just thinking out loud here.
