I have a 2011 Cruze and when I started it last night, the headlights did not come on though it was set to auto. All other lights came on fine except head lights. When I move the control to manually turn on the headlights, every thing worked except the headlights. Being an hour from home my only choice was to drive with the high beams on all the way or have not lights at all. I have checked each fuse in the panel under the headlight controls and those are good. Any suggestions?

Check the bulbs. They could both be blown. I know it sounds strange, but I've had it happen to me. One goes, but you don't notice it right away, but when the second one - which is the same age - goes, you're in the dark.
Also, you could have had the jarring of a nasty pothole take out both old bulbs at the same time.
