.Just picked up 2014 Cruze 1.4 turbo had airbag deployment drivers and seatbelts. Have all the SRS parts to replace from EBAY including same part number SRS control unit out of 2014 Cruze . Is there a chance if i connect the SRS control unit the system will pick it up and turn off the SRS light? Will it look at the VIN and have to be programed. Wondering if anyone has done this. Will i need the MDi2 interface they use at GM.

As far as I thought modules need to be programmed to a vin number... And that is often a 1 time deal.
Today i replaced drivers and drivers knee airbag. Also put in the two used seatbelts and SRS control unit from the junk yard. Now i have code Drivers seat belt anchor pretensioner deployment loop open circuit current DTC, History DTC, test not passed since power up warning indicator requested.(symptom 04) . Passenger side too. Only have snap on tester will erase and read codes they come right back. Is there away to test seatbelts for posable deployment .
I only replaced half of the seatbelt not the outside anchor it looked like a cable but it’s connected and fires with the seatbelt. In other words im an idiot and never watched the end of the seat belt video. The buckle you connect to before you drive is a piece of flat steel. I Think the junk yard srs unit is ok . Need to get the anchor part of sb hope the same car is waiting for me at the junk yard. Have replaced many srs units at work never heard of restoring them until I looked on eBay . Do insurance companies allow that service cause if one doesn’t deploy that would be bad.
