I found the H7 lights at AutoZone, went to install them and noticed that the high beam has simply a twist part and undo and then you get access to it. The low beam has three screws which I cannot take off since they are so close to the air intake and on the other side the battery is in the way. So I guess ill have to go to the dealership for them to drop the bumper. They quoted me at $130 for 1.5 hours of labor which I think is just crazy expensive.

Yeah the high beams are easy peazy, but it really should take them more than 45 minutes to an hour so they're crazy billing you for 90 minutes. But if it's worth it to you for the convenience then so be it, if you go the money then feel free to spend it! Haha.

Heck no, I'm in the military, pay aint great. However I don't really see another option, investing in the tools to do it would cost $$$. I trust them to do the job right and not screw up the bumper.

Thank you so much for this help, this is one of the many reasons I love this forum. I live on a military installation so it was hard to do, however I went to my girlfriends house in GA and we did exactly what you suggested. No more getting flashed for me. :)

I bet the gate guards are now less pissed at night. Hi beams and wipers on high were the 2 things that sucked on waving traffic.

When someone refers to it as a base or installation, you kinda know what branch they are in. Kinda like when we were in BDU's back in the day with black T Shirts.

You aware of the military thread, just don't go too far against the AT CBT the best you can?

FSS doesn't have a DIY garage for you guys/gals to wrench on cars? That's how I got started on my wrenching in my AFDW days when I was a Dorm Dweller up to being kicked out and in apartments in NoVa. JB MDL sucked as you had to share it with the Army and Navy base attached. I had some tools I got here and there at least for basic removal. Actually have enough in the car for oil change of engine/trans

So I have lived on military bases most of my life, barksdale, moody, seymour johnson, shaw, all have had auto body shops to do your own work. Since budget cuts have come down, most that I know have closed, along with movie theaters on base. Unfortunately when I lived on those bases I wasn't much into cars, but now that I am, no place to go sadly.
