I look in the owner manual and it says 41-117. I go on GM Parts Direct(they say either 41-120 or 41-121) and Rock Auto says 41-120. An AC Delco distributor says it takes 41-120. The dealer says they need my VIN but it takes one of 2 but did not say which ones(and were floored when I told them I took out NGKs). I have Autolites in the car now and want AC Delco. The Autolites I have CR back to the 41-117. Will the correct plug please stand up!!!!! Why is this so complicated!!

I'd go with the owner's manual on this one. Although the 41-120's are likely updated.

Why jump though hoops to buy the AC delco plug when all your going to end up with is a NGK plug? The AC plugs I have seen actually have NGK part numbers on them, you are just paying for the name on the box.

any reason you are switching plugs again?

To answer 2 questions: 1) I screwed up and replaced the stock NGKs with Autolites(since at the time they were the only thing available(no I probably didn't need to replace)). 2) I called the dealer this morning with my VIN and they said it is the 41-120. I told him about the 117 and 121 and he told me plug part numbers change so quickly and any one of the 3 should be the same. I can pick up the 117s from KOI today for 6.50 ea the dealer wants @10.00 ea. and RockAuto has the 120s for 5 + shipping. All I know when I pull out the Autolites, they have some carbon on them. More than the NGKs I had did after 24000 miles. I bought the 120s from Rock Auto.

...is there any difference in "heat range" for those 41-117, 41-120 and 41-121 AC Delco plugs?

...it sounds like the 'original' 41-117 plugs represent USA-engine (Flint plant) installations while the 41-120 and 41-121 represent European and Austrialian engine installations?

I hate the taste of crow but the plugs from Rock Auto arrived today and they are NGKs in AC Delco boxes. I called Rock Auto and they said yes. AC Delco is just one vendor that gets their parts from someone else. So.... They said the NGK is probably OEM I am still thinking of company "integrity of selling your own parts" That is an idea of the 80s. I guess I am back where I initially started with the plugs. The Autolites just don't seem to "have it"

AC Delco is really just a parts distributor anymore...

At the rate our Buick went through alternators (3 in 7 years), they didn't make great parts anyway.

looking on rock auto website it looks like they now only list the 41-121 AC delco plug for the cruze(2011-2013). Was there a problem with the 41-117 or 41-120 they also previously listed? Was there a heat range change? I may head to me dealer to see what part number they list.

remember this quote of nearly 20 years ago... "American components, Russian Components, ALL MADE IN TAIWAN"

Those of you who think there is such a thing as 100% GM components really has to hang out at the dealership shipping and receiving area or parts counter.

NGK is just one example, take a look at Magna International. and who they supply for OEM.

IIRC the 11 and some 12 had a 6 heat range later changed to 7. Reason we all went BKR7e's in the hesitation Gone thread. Since then tuned folks went BKR8EIX. The updated numbers for the OEM are gonna be 7 range. Check your gaps when you do change em as OEM gaps out the box were questionable even in my 2013 off the line and when dealers swapped Coil Pack #1 out and plugs same time.

Robby we just like to chit chat ! Can ya dig IT ...

Spark Plugs , Diffusers , Turbos , 2 Dins , Rear Cameras , Super Chargers //even Dead Peeps ...

In my experience (or experiment) copper Autolites work the best ($1.48/Amazon) . Ok, I haven't tried brand new NGK iridiums, only used ones. The platinum plugs sucked the worst.

Am I missing something?????

Why all the chit chat in the 1.8 section?

Or, are you really discussing plugs for the 1.8?

Rob
OP had a 1.8 at the original thread start date. IIRC we know his is 1.4 and kinda treated it as such.

Copper will perform better than iridium but the EIX Iridium will still perform better than the OEM iridium.
