I've been researching a noise on my Chevy Cruze that started about a month ago. I thought it was a pulley or belt but I do not think it is. I watched a few videos of a front crankshaft seal failing so I tried to replicate the advice from the videos. When I pull the dipstick, there is a bit of a vacuum sound and the squeak gets way worse. This is not similar to the few videos I watched. Usually the sound goes away when the dipstick is pulled in the videos. Any ideas what this could be?

Oil has ~2,500K on it. Dipstick reads a 75% oil level.

Here is a video of the problem: https://streamable.com/ud24o

THANK YOU!!!

Went to right to google when I read your post - Found another video with the exact same sound. Went to the Autostore and picked up four new Delco plugs. If I am there may as well replace them. Sure enough, one was loose - sorrounding plug a wall was a bit tarnished too. Replaced them and now it sounds like new! Very quiet, I think it's slowly been a problem. Problem solved.
