Hi- New to the forum, and i have picked up a 80,000 mile 2011 cruze with the 1.4L. Always maintained. I put a cold air intake on it and just 2 weeks ago the Trifecta Tune. Everything was running great and then the check engine light came on with the P0299 code, "under boost". I didn't notice any sort of running issue or any difference at all.. The code being thrown just worried me. I cleared the code and put the engine back to stock. Did the tune cause this? I would really love to run this tune since I see good improvement with it. I also run the 91 octane fuel. Whats everyone think? Thank you!!!

Time to take it to the dealer for a turbo replacment so flash it back to stock and wait for the code again.

2012 Eco, AT, 35K miles. P0299. Dealer diagnosed bad waste gate actuator pin on turbocharger. Yesterday, dealer installed brand new turbocharger. I looked. It's really new. This is becoming a known almost common problem on GM's with this turbo. They skimped on the unhardened metal of that actuator pin. If less than five years old and under 100K it warranted. If not, sorry. Better hurry if you have 80K on it. They also will have to change your oil and coolant as part of the repair. Free!

Back to lovin' my Cruze. Noticeable difference with the new turbo. Much better pickup, better passing gear, more responsive, less turbo lag. I'm not kidding. I'm very sensitive to car behavior. I use at least 89 octane but prefer 92-93 from BP, Chevron, Shell or Texaco. No local off-brand gas. Running better, smoother and quieter than when brand new. 2012 Eco, 36K, AT. Oh, by the way, the new turbo was under Powertrain warranty, PLUS they had to change oil/filter and coolant with turbo installation. My cost? ZERO! Not bad, eh? Chevy/GM can do some things right.

So yea I got the same code on my 2015 Cruze with 29000mi. I was driving in and out of Chicago that day and first noticed significant loss in power and was severely handicapped trying to merge or pass anything. then my check engine light comes on while stuck in the middle of the Kennedy expressway, 90deg day, going nowhere fast. Then my gas low came on, and I realized she was sucking way more gas than ever before. Finally after worrying most of the day if I could make it home and off those dam highways, I made an extra pit stop to the gas station and then stopped at AutoZone to read my code P0299. That night after researching, I took it in the next day to the dealership thinking I was going to get a new Turbo. Turns out a little clip on the waste Gate fell off? Took them an extra day to get this in and back up an running again. They said it may not have been fully seated from the factory and worked its self loose over time and that I should not have to worry about it if installed correctly. Only time will tell
