I got a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco a few months ago and I am looking to start modifying it without killing the great gas mileage. That being said, I am starting with a cold air intake. So which is better: the K&N 69 series typhoon or the Injen SP series? I have heard good things about both but I want to know which is better and which is more preferred. Thanks guys!

Puddles aren't a real issue with the CAI. Flooding however is. If your area has frequent flooding and you expect to have to drive through it, just put it in SRI mode like the other intakes.

K&N intake is not a cold air intake. it is a short ram with a heat shield.

I've never once had an issue with error codes, and i've had it for about 3 months. When i installed it i got like +5 mpg

every time i fill up i reset the MPG thing on the dash. After the intake it was reading 4-5 over what i was getting before. Not so much anymore now that it's colder out

It's all merely preference, do a search on google for SRI vs. CAI and it can help you decide

With the bypass & drop in my IATs are 1-3 degrees above ambient. $41 for a filter with shipping from ebay and 10 minutes total to do the bypass and swap filters...and unlike the injen it won't suck up a puddle and hydrolock the motor.

It's also quiet, and i can't imagine there's much if any difference in restriction considering how tiny the stock turbo is.

Yeah with the Injen you can choose whether you want it to be an SRI or CAI merely by installing the elbow pipe or not
