On the way to work this morning this stupid woman (I'm a woman too) changed lanes in front of me without assured distance causing me to slam on my brakes. Glad nobody hit me from behind or the side, I barely missed her! :RantExplode:

It's always the bang in the rear that hurts worst. I always have to keep an eye out in my rear view.

I went to pull into a pizza place last night which is next to a gas station. There was a woman sitting waiting from me to get by to pull out of the gas station, some idiot kid decided to fly at 25mph+ around her and try to get out in the pizza place entrance. He almost slammed into the front of me, if it was not for me taking evasive maneuvers.

The day before I was following a truck going 45mph in a 55mph zone, when we got to a hill with a passing zone I proceeded to passed him. However reading the road ahead I seen a semi broke down in the slow lane with flares out and everything. Stayed in the fast lane a bit to long for the young woman in the cavalier behind me, she cut off the truck I passed noticed the semi and proceeded to cut me off as well. 5 miles down the road I seen her almost hit another car head on in a no passing zone, again cutting off the car she was passing.

I'm glad the cruze has as good of handling as it does, but why does there need to be so many idiots on the road?

Daily occurrence around here, with almost getting hit, over 10,000 people enter our town daily with mad rushes to drop kids off at school or day care centers, then trying to be to work on time. People pulling out from side streets without looking is common.

In my Cruze, have to constantly turn my head when changing lanes due to blind spots. Schools use to open at 7:00 AM but cut that back to 15-20 minutes before the final bell rings, so you hate to leave your kids in subzero weather where they can freeze to death. And day care centers charge a fortune if you drop your kids off early, these augmented the rush to get to work on time.

Not only in my town, but practically any town or city. Some friends in Orlando were averaging 3-4 fender benders a year. Someone came up with the brilliant idea of making all of us be at the same place at the same time. Only way to make up this time is to drive like a nut.

Further threats in town are deer, bears, and wild turkeys. Somehow they have learned no hunting is permitted in town, so come here for their survival. Whoever came up with the word, rush hour? Traffic is so bad, rushing is out, but always people trying to rush. If late for work, can lose your job, say you should leave early, but how can you if you have kids that have to be dropped off?

My home town has 10 MILLION, and that is on a good day. One thing I instantly like about the CRUZE was it doesn't seem to have horrible blind spots? In my previous Car, avoiding accidents wasn't always done by braking, the CRUZE is woefully underpowered?

Two nights ago I pulled out onto a two lane road. I had checked for the way to be clear and it was until I actually pulled out onto the road. The oncoming traffice swerved into my lane. Hitting the brakes and my horn got the drivers attention. She was looking down. Probably texting. Looked up and got back into her lane just in time to avoid my stopped car. I was swearing up a storm as she passed. She waved at me as she drove past. B****

Nothing ticks me off more than texting and driving, it's illegal in Ohio!

Good reflexes and paying attention to the road. I always assume everyone else on the road is simultaneously drunk and texting. The Cruze handles quite well in an emergency. I'm glad you're ok. The only real problem is the other driver is still out there preying on some unsuspecting or slower reflex action driver.

I totally agree, I'm constantly on the defense especially during rush hour!

Well if I get this job in Northern VA that I have an interview for soon and actually move up there, I'll be a nervous wreck driving on the roads up there! I'm sure my car would be in a fender bender my first couple weeks up there, lol! N.Va has some of the worst drivers in the nation and it doesn't help that so do Maryland and DC, so I would just get the best of it all! One big distracted, talking on their cell phones, road-raged cluster Fu@#s!

Hold the phone. Does this mean there's a chance of you getting a Cruze somewhat soon?

You can buy a device here that attaches to the windscreen or dash that holds your phone, the idea being that you have it on speaker and only have to touch a button to answer it and the phone just pulls off when you leave the car. Useful if you have a car without bluetooth.

And yet even when we have these laws in place I have almost been hit head on a half dozen times in the last few years. Every single time I could see the **** driver looking down at their phone(texting). One of those times I was cresting a hill and had the A-hole entirely in my lane, I had to put the cruze into the ditch to avoid the accident.

Hey man, I live in Columbus too! People here can't drive. It's terrible. I moved up here last year from Cincy and my insurance went up about $20 a month! That being said the Cruze is terrible under very heavy braking with the excessive nosedive. I installed a Eibach Pro springs kit on it, and now my car will really stop with hardly any nosedive. Shoot me a PM if your interested in meeting somewhere and checking it out sometime!

Driving in Boston is a full contact sport. :) I out-merged a taxi the other day - he wasn't happy.
